COA REQUEST: Install storm windows
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS:
The applicants live in the subject property, which they have owned since last year.
Also, they own another property and have lived in the historic district for several years.
Other work on the structure entails repairs to the roof, porch and soffits, which do not
require a COA.
The request is for the installation of storm windows on the structure for energy
efficiency and security reasons. The applicant received a copy of the district's design
guidelines and is familiar with Item #42 (p. 58), which lists three recommendations for
storm windows and doors. Based on the information submitted and staff conversations
with the applicant, the proposed project meets design recommendations for the historic
district. The application has met all public hearing requirements.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
It is the recommendation of staff that the COA application be approved as requested.
