HomeMy WebLinkAbout16050 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,050 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., 5 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED FIFTY-SEVEN, 6 THREE AND 60/100 DOLLARS ($3.57,003.60), FOR THE REBSAMEN 7 PARK ROAD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR 8 OTHER PURPOSES 9 10 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 15,524 (August 17, 2021), as adopted by the Little Rock Board of 11 Directors, made a Three Million Dollar ($3,000,000.00) allocation of American Rescue Act Funds for 12 Water and Sewer Infrastructure Improvement Projects; and, 13 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 15,603 (January 4, 2022), as adopted by the Little Rock Board of 14 Directors, identified currently designed, eligible projects in Wards 1, 3 and 7, including drainage 15 improvements on Rebsamen Park Road, Midland Street and G Street at Monroe Street; and, 16 WHEREAS,bids were solicited for Landfill Sanitary Pump Station, Bid No. 2181; and, 17 WHEREAS,Gene Summers Construction was determined to be the lowest responsive,responsible bid 18 meeting specifications out of three(3) bids received for the project. 19 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers 22 Construction Inc.,for the Rebsamen Park Road Drainage Improvement Project, in an amount not to exceed 23 Three Hundred Fifty-Seven Thousand, Three and 60/100 Dollars ($357,003.60), which is the base bid 24 amount of Two Hundred Ninety-Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Three Dollars ($297,503.00), plus 20% 25 contingencies. 26 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund Grant authorized 27 by the American Rescue Plan Act,as authorized by Resolution No. 15,524, Account No. G0506AR40D. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 32 resolution. 33 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 34 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
