HomeMy WebLinkAbout16045 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,045 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO SUPPORT A SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM FOR DI- 4 VERSIONARY TREATMENT OPERATED IN THE LITTLE ROCK STATE 5 DISTRICT COURT, FIRST DIVISION; TO DECLARE THAT THE CITY OF 6 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, WILL FULFILL ITS OBLIGATIONS TO THE 7 COURT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, through a grant with Pulaski County, Arkansas, the Little Rock State District Court, First 10 Division,has the opportunity to participate in the Alternative Substance Abuse Program for Diversionary Treat- 11 ment within Pulaski County, Arkansas; and the Honorable Melanie Martin, Judge of this Court, is agreeable 12 and would like to participate in such a program; and, 13 WHEREAS, a June 22, 2023, Arkansas Supreme Court per curiam opinion authorized an amendment to 14 the administrative plan for the Little Rock State District Court which permits such a program to begin imme- 15 diately. 16 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF 17 LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The City renews its commitment to support the Little Rock State District Court as required by 19 law, and to continue to do so as long as required, as set forth in the amended District Court plan approved by 20 the Arkansas Supreme Court. 21 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 22 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudica- 23 tion shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if 24 the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution. 25 Section 3. Repealer.
