HomeMy WebLinkAbout16022 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,022 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH R.VALADEZ CONSTRUCTION,INC.,IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-EIGHT THOUSAND, NINETY- 6 EIGHT DOLLARS ($58,098.00), FOR THE G STREET AT MONROE 7 STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER 8 PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 15,524 (August 17, 2021), as adopted by the Little Rock Board of 11 Directors, made a Three Million Dollar ($3,000,000.00) allocation of American Rescue Act Funds for 12 Water and Sewer Infrastructure Improvement Projects;and, 13 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 15,603 (January 4, 2022), as adopted by the Little Rock Board of 14 Directors, identified currently designed, eligible projects in Wards 1, 3 and 7, including drainage 15 improvements on Rebsamen Park Road, Midland Street and G Street at Monroe Street;and, 16 WHEREAS,bids were solicited for the G Street at Monroe Street Drainage Improvement Project,Bid 17 No. 2110;and, 18 WHEREAS, R. Valadez Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting 19 specifications out of six(6)bids received. 20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with R. Valadez 23 Construction, Inc., for the G Street at Monroe Street Drainage Improvement Project, in an amount not to 24 exceed Fifty-Eight Thousand, Ninety-Eight Dollars ($58,098.00), which is the base bid amount of Forty- 25 Eight Thousand,Four Hundred Fifteen Dollars($48,415.00),plus 20%contingencies. 26 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund(SLFRF)Grant 27 authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) as authorized by Resolution No, 15,524, Account 28 No. G0506AR40E. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 33 resolution.
