SUBJECT: Portable Classroom Placement at Mabelvale Middle School
DATE: October 28, 2002
Placement of the proposed portable classroom buildings described in the attached
applications is approved subject to compliance with the following conditions:
• Doors on two western -most buildings are to be oriented to the east, away from the
street.
Assure all lighting is directed downward and into the school site.
• Comply with any spacing requirements of Fire Department or Building Code Life
Safety.
All structures must be skirted.
• Provide hard surface walkway to paved parking lot.
• Do not cut trees, if possible.
■ Paint or improve the structures to be as compatible with the school building as
possible.
■ Placement of the buildings is approved during the period of construction at the
school; after which, they must be removed. Anticipated removal date is spring of
2004..

I am writing this to support our request for the placement of portable buildings at
Mabelvale Middle School.
The placement of these buildings will be to support the construction project that is
ongoing over the next eighteen months. These portables will be relocated from other
schools within the Little Rock School District where construction projects have been
completed. It is our plan that once the Mabelvale project has been completed that we will
be disposing of these portables.
