Provide 4" x 1/8" steel landscape edging with stakes between all turf areas and ground cover or shrub beds. No edging shall be installed between the different types of shrub material. Taper -off or pound down corner of steel edging. 1. Provide a 2" minimum depth of shredded hardwood mulch in all mass planting beds. Finished grades of the mulch sholl be 1/2" below the finished grode of adjacent paving or ed gin Submit a sample of the mulch for approval by the Owner and/or Architect prior to installation. 3. Prior to landscape installation, review the subsurface drainage conditions. Install materials "high" if necessary, due to subsurface conditions. Contact the Architect if existing conditions might jeopardize the plant materials' livability. Provide positive droinoge in all turf oreos and mass planting areas. 4. Provide two applications of Round -Up, as per manufacturer's recommendations, in all new moss planting and turf areas. Excavate and fine grade as required to allow for a 2" depth of new topsoil in all solid sod areas. All solid sod shall be EI Toro Zoysia. Solid sod to be laid on o smooth uniform Kode with oil joints tight and even.Provide positive drainage in oil turf areas. ntractor shall calculate oil square footage of sod areas. 9. Refer to the Drawings for the plantings of Bi Blue Liriope. Set the groundcovver plants in staggered rows 12" on center. Set the first row of plants in 6" from any edging or paving. 8. Refer to the Drawings for the plantings of Asiatic Jasmine. Set the ground cover plants 2'-0" on center, staggered rows, unless otherwise noted. Provide consistent spacing in the moss plantings. Set the first row of plants in 18" from any edging or paving or other shrub moss. 10. Itis the responsibility of the Irrigation Contractor to familiarize himself with all grbdes differences, location of walls, retaining wolfs, etc. He sholl coordino* his work with the General Contractor and other Subcontractors for the location and the installation of pipe sleeves through walls, under roadways, poving, structures, etc. 11. Upon approval of a bid, submit on irrigation plan for review. Show all heads, pipe locations and connection to water source and controls. Confirm available water pressure on site prior to designing the system. Submit product informotion for oil equipment. Reproducible as -bunts irrigation plan will also be require upon completion of the installation. 12. C:ordinote the installation of the sprinkler meter. Verify the location for the sp',rinkler meter. Set o reduced pressure bockflow preventer, installed according 'to Municipal Water Works rules and regulations. Position the reduced pressurckflow preventer behind a shrub mass so that it will be inconspicuous from the entrance drive and street. Provide green insulated fiberglass backflow preventer enclosure. 13. The Owner shall provide a source for water on the site and will pay oil water costs. Furnish all necessary hose equipment, attachments and accessories for adequate irrigation to complete the work specified. 14. Review the exact location for the automatic controller with the Architect. Install the (controller at a height of approximately 36" and where directed by the General Contractor and Architect. The controller shall hove a hinged cover and lock, suitable for outdoor conditions, and shall be kept locked at all times. 15. The General Contractor shoal provide Schedule 40 PVC sleeving, 4" or 6" buried at on 18" depth as access for the sprinkler system. The ends of the sleeves smil be clearly marked by the General Contractor and shall extend out 18" past the curbs or paving. Boring may be necessary to gain access under existing %olks or paving.
