DETAIL
1. Provide 4" x 1/8" steel landscape edging with stokes between all turf
areas and ground cover or shrub beds. No edging sholl be installed between
the different types of shrub material. Toper -off or pound down corner of
steel edging.
1. Provide a 2" minimum depth of shredded hardwood mulch in all mass
planting beds. Finished grades of the mulch sholl be 1/2" below the finished
grade of adjacent poving or edging. Submit a sample of the mulch for
opprovol by the Owner and/or Architect prior to installation.
3. Prior to landscape installation, review the subsurface drainage
conditions. Install materials "high" if necessary, due to subsurface conditions.
Contact the Architect if existing conditions might jeopardize the plant materials'
livability. Provide positive drainage in oil turf areas and moss planting areas.
4. Provide two applications of Round -Up, as per manufacturer's
recommendations, in oil new moss planting and turf areas. Excavate and fine
Zode as required to allow for o 2" depth of new topsoil in all solid sod areas.
l solid sod sholl be EI Toro Zoysia. Solid sod to be laid on a smooth uniform
Kode with all joints tight and even.Provide positive drainage in oil turf areas.
r.troctor sholl calculate oil square footage of sod areas.
9. Refer to the Drawings for the plantings of Big Blue Liriope. Set the
groundcover plants in staggered rows 12" on center. Set the first row of
plants in 6" from any edging or paving.
8. Refer to the Drawings for the plantings of Asiatic Jasmine. Set the
ground cover plants 2'-0" on center, staggered rows, unless otherwise noted.
Provide consistent spacing in the moss plantings. Set the first row of plants
in 18" from any edging or paving or other shrub moss.
10. 11 is the responsibility of the Irrigation Contractor to familiarize himself
with all grades differences, location of wolfs, retaining walls, etc. He shall
coordinate his work with the General Contractor and other Subcontractors
for the location and the installation of pipe sleeves through walls, under
roadways, paving, structures, etc.
11. Upon approval of a bid, submit on irrigation plan for review. Show all
heads, pipe locations and connection to water source and controls. Confirm
available water pressure on site prior to designing the system. Submit product
information for oil equipment. Reproducible as-bullts irrigation pion will also
be required upon completion of the installation.
12. Coordinate the installation of the sprinkler meter. Verify the location
for the sprinkler meter. Set o reduced pressure backflow preventer, installed
according to Municipal Water Works rules and regulations. Position the reduced
pressure backflow preventer behind a shrub moss so that it will be inconspicuous
from the entrance drive and street. Provide green insulated fiberglass bockflow
preventer enclosure.
13. rhe Owner shod provide a source for water on the site and will pay
all water costs. Furnish all necessary hose equipment, attachments and
occessories for adequate irrigation to complete the work specified.
14. Review the exact location for the automatic controller with the Architect.
Install the controller at a height of approximately 36" and where directed by the
General Contractor and Architect. The controller sholl have a hinged cover and
lock, suitoble for outdoor conditions, and shall be kept locked of all times.
15. The General Contractor sholl provide Schedule 40 PVC sleeving, 4" or 6"
buried at an 18" depth as access for the sprinkler system. The ends of the
sleeves stroll be clearly marked by the General Contractor and shall extend out
18" post I;he curbs or paving. Boring may be necessary to gain access under
existing works or paving.
