The Master Street Plan is a document used to guide the alignment and design of major roads. In this case we are talking about Collectors. The primary function of a Collector Road is to provide a connection from Local Streets to Arterials. These roads have a ‘typical design’ of a 60-foot right-of-way with pavement wide enough for up to three lanes (or two and parking) with a 5-foot sidewalk. The proposal is to remove Oak Oak/Black from the MSP as a Collector north of Shepard Drive. The second part of the amendment is to add Shepard Drive/Russ, east of Old Oak Drive as a Collector. A Public Hearing to consider this change has been scheduled for May 11 at 4 PM before the Little Rock Planning Commission. The Commission meeting takes place at the Centre at University Park, 6401 West 12th Street. You are welcome to attend the public hearing and make comment on the proposed change and/or send written comments to the Planning & Development Department. If you have comments, please send written comments to the letterhead address by May 1, 2023. Thank you for your time and consideration of this matter. Sincerely, Walter Malone, AICP Planning Manager Attachment
