HomeMy WebLinkAboutZ-5371-A Staff AnalysisDecember 23, 1991 Item No. A Request: To grant a time extension for previously approved variance (Z-5371). Location: 6100 Block of Forbing Road STAFF REPORT: In October of 1990, the Board of Adjustment granted a variance from the pavement requirements to allow parking on an unpaved lot at the above location. The variance was approved for a period of one year, -with the understanding that any additional time would require review by the Board. The one year period has lapsed and the owner is requesting an extension of one year. He has indicated that the fill material has not had sufficient time to settle and more time is needed. The initial justification stated that the area used for parking has to be built up with fill before paving can take place. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of a six month extension and not twelve months as requested. We feel that a total of eighteen months is adequate time for the site to settle and be paved to ordinance standards. Our position is consistent with previous request of this nature. BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT ACTION: (NOVEMBER 25, 1991) Neither the applicant or a representative was in attendance. A motion was made to defer this item until the December 23, 1991 meeting. The motion passed by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 noes and 2 absent.
