RESOLUTION NO. 12,322
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 PURCHASE TELEPHONE SYSTEM AND TELEPHONE SWITCHING
5 SERVICE FOR THE NEW FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING
6 ACADEMY UNDER THE EXISTING TELEPHONE SERVICE
7 CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the 2004 Capital Improvement Bond issue approved by the voters of
11 the City of Little Rock provided funds for the construction and furnishings of a new
12 fire department complex which includes a fire training academy, located at 7000
13 Murray Street, and
14 WHEREAS, construction and furnishing of the complex will include interior and
15 exterior communication systems such as telephone, computer network, intercom and
16 alarm systems, and
17 WHEREAS, to ensure that the telephone system and telephone switching service
18 for the fire training academy are consistent and compatible with the city -wide
19 telephone system that is being provided by American Telephone and Telegraph, Inc. ,
20 the requested service will be provided to the City under the existing telephone service
21 contract with the State of Arkansas, and
22 WHEREAS, the total cost for the purchase and installation of the fire training
23 academy telephone system is Two Hundred Forty -four Thousand, Four Hundred
24 Seventy -two and 61/100 Dollars ($244,472.61).
25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
26 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

To authorize purchase of telephone system for LUD Training Academy
I Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to
2 purchase a telephone system and telephone switching service for the Fire Department
3 Training Academy under the existing telephone service contract with the State of
4 Arkansas for the total cost of Two Hundred Forty -four Thousand, Four Hundred
5 Seventy -two and 61/100 Dollars ($244,472.61)..
6 Section 2. This project will be funded from 2004 Bond Projects Fund.
7 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
8 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
9 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
10 portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
11 declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
12 resolution.
13 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
14 are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
15 of such inconsistency.
