I met with the owners here at Elmscourt and went over the HDC review with them. I showed them the front door option that the commission recommended in lieu of the Door option that we presented at the hearing. They appreciated being given the option and they took the alternate recommendation into consideration but after checking pricing and budgets they have decided that spending the extra $4,500- 5,500+ isn’t feasible. This is partially due to extra/unforeseen costs already incurred during the interior renovations in order to meet new codes and standards imposed by the Little Rock City Planning Department and also in part to NPS/AHPP conditions that we’ve had to meet. Unfortunately these changes have already put us over our original budget and so we are trying to keep any new change orders to a minimum for the remainder of the project. So, the owners have requested to be able to pursue using 2 the staff approved doors we already have in our possession that the previous owner had already purchased which we incurred with the sale. Please let me know if you guys need anything else. And again Hannah, thank you for all of your time, assistance, and patience with us through this process. The commission approved the proposed replacement doors at 623 Sherman Street as well as the option to use one of the example doors in the staff report if the owner was agreeable to this alternative. Please let me know which option the owner would like to pursue and I’ll draft up a Certificate of Appropriateness accordingly. Any company could be used.
