HomeMy WebLinkAbout15983 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,983 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A ONE (1)-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH HOPE 5 LAWNCARE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY-EIGHT 6 THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY-THREE AND 94/100 DOLLAR 7 ($78,453.94), FOR RIGHT-OF-WAY MOWING AND TRIMMING, PHASE 8 II, WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR 9 OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,right-of-way mowing and trimming is needed within the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, 12 (City)to maintain public right-of-ways along City streets;and, 13 WHEREAS, the City held a Public Bid No. 1662 to obtain competitive bids from qualified vendors 14 to provide contractor assistance to the Public Works Department with mowing some of right-of-ways 15 along street segments; and, 16 WHEREAS,the contract mowing for this program was divided into three (3)phases to allow for the 17 participation of small contractors; and, this Phase II Contract will provide contractor assistance to the 18 Public Works Department with mowing some of right-of-ways along street segments located in Wards 3, 19 4, 5, 6 and 7;and, 20 WHEREAS,HOPE Lawncare submitted the lowest bid meeting specifications for the 2022 Right-of- 21 Way Mowing and Trimming Phase II Program,for areas located in Wards 3,4, 5,6 and 7;and, 22 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 15,691 (June 7, 2022) was approved by the Board of Directors to 23 authorize a contract the contract for one(1)-year with the option of two(2) additional one (1)-year terms, 24 and this extension represents year two(2)of three(3); and, 25 WHEREAS, the City wishes to exercise its option to extend the contract for the first of two (2) 26 additional one (1)-year terms with HOPE Lawncare for right-of-way mowing and trimming within the 27 City of Little Rock. 28 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 29 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 30 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to extend the contract with HOPE Lawncare, in an 31 amount not to exceed Seventy-Eight Thousand, Four Hundred Fifty-Three and 94/100 Dollars 32 ($78,453.94), or Sixty-Five Thousand, Three Hundred Seventy-Eight and 28/100 Dollars ($65,378.28), 33 plus 20% contingency, for the Right-of-Way Mowing and Trimming Phase II Program, for areas located 34 in Wards 3,4, 5,6 and 7. (Page 1 of 2] 1 Section 2. Funding for this contract is available in Account No. 205409-S40B661. 2 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 3 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 4 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 5 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 6 resolution. 7 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent 8 with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 9 ADOPTED: May 16,2023 10 A-T f.
