3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC.,
5 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED
6 SEVEN THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED SIX AND 40/100 DOLLARS
7 ($1,407,806.40), FOR THE CHICOT ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT,
8 FROM ROYAL OAKS DRIVE TO YARBERRY LANE; AND FOR OTHER
9 PURPOSES

11 WHEREAS,bids were solicited for the Chicot Road Improvement Project, from Royal Oaks Drive to
12 Yarberry Lane, Bid No. 2077; and,
13 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., submitted the lowest responsive, responsible bid
14 meeting specifications.
15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers
18 Construction, Inc., for the Chicot Road Improvement Project,from Royal Oaks Drive to Yarberry Lane, in
19 an amount not to exceed One Million, Four Hundred Seven Thousand, Eight Hundred Six and 40/100
20 Dollars ($1,407,806.40), which is the base bid amount of One Million, One Hundred Seventy-Three
21 Thousand, One Hundred Seventy-Two Dollars($1,173,172.00),plus 20%contingencies.
22 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the%-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
23 Use Tax Funds and the Limited Tax General Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized by
24 Resolution No. 14,803.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
