Box 34155 Little Rock, Arkansas 72203 Phone 375-2416 March 23, 1989 Office of Comprehensive Planning 723 W.Markhan Little Rock, Ar 72201 Subject: Request for extention of waiver Our House shelter for the homeless respectfully requests an extention of -the waiver granted by the Little Rock Board of adjustment on March 21, 1988, Item No. 6-Z-4994, and a waiver from the filing fee. Our House has conducted fund raising activities to collect money to pave the parking lot and meet the provisions of Section 8-101-I of the Central Little Rock Code of Ordinances, however, when bids for the paving were received on March 21, 1989, the lowest bid was $5,985.00. To date we have been able to raise $2,399.56 which is maintained in an account dedicated for that use only. Our operating budget does not have any funds which can be used for the paving project and if we used operating funds we would have to possibly close the shelter. Please be assured that we are making every effort to pave the parking lot at the earliest possible time and we will continue our fund raising efforts to accomplish that project before the end of the requested extention. We are pleased to advise the Board of Adjustment and your office that we have succeeded in raising the remainder of the money needed to comply with the code of ordinance requirement that we pave our parking lot, therefore we do not need the extention requested on March 23, 1989. We want to take this opportunity to thank the board and staff for your cooperation in this matter. The contract has been let and we expect that the parking lot will be completed within 30 days, weather permitting.
