3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH J.A. RIGGS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
5 EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS
6 ($525,000.00), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR THE
7 PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 2020 CATERPILLAR 826K COMPACTOR FOR
8 THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT LANDFILL DIVISION; AND FOR
9 OTHER PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS,the Public Works Department Landfill Division has demonstrated a need to replace the
12 current Bomag Compactor that has a non-repairable motor with replacement exceeding value; and,
13 WHEREAS, Fleet Services seeks approval for the purchase of (1) used 2020 Caterpillar 826K
14 Compactor for Public Works Department Landfill Division from J.A. Riggs; and,
15 WHEREAS,the total purchase price for one(1)2020 Caterpillar 826K Compactor shall not to exceed
16 Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars($525,000.00),plus applicable taxes and fees.
17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with J.A.Riggs,for the purchase
20 of one (1) 2020 Caterpillar 826K Compactor, in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Twenty-Five
21 Thousand Dollars($525,000.00),plus applicable taxes and fees,to be used by the Public Works Department
22 Landfill Division.
23 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are available in various Fleet& Public Works Accounts.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
30 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
