RE: Continuation of Variance for 9601 W. Markham St.
Dear Sirs:
As you know, Markham Street Baptist Church was granted a zoning variance
on the property at 9601 W. Markham. This was requested in a letter of
Nov. 24, 1987 and was granted on Dec. 21, 1987.
At this time we are requesting an extension of this variance due to
several problems we have encountered. At the time we received the
variance finances at our church were tight and we were unable to proceed
with our plans. We were trying to sell the house on the property and
after several months, we did sell the house to be moved. After the
house was sold and before the buyer could move the house, it caught
fire twice. Now it will have to be torn down and removed. If we can
get an extension on this variance, we will immediately purchase a
building permit and get to work on this parking lot.

Dear Mr. Cope:
Please be advised that the Little Rock Board of Adjustment
at the October 23, 1989 meeting approved your one year
extension of time request for a parking lot on property
zoned R-2 Single Family.
A condition of the approval states that if after a year,
more time is needed, a return to the Board of Adjustment
will be needed.
