Little Rock, AR 72201-1334
Dear Mr. Sims;
Recycled paper +
We request that our application for the building expansion at the following site be withdrawn.
This request is based on the information we received from Mr. Jerry Gardner, Little Rock
City Civil Engineering Manager, and the Department of Neighborhoods and Planning. It is
our understanding that our proposed expansion project is not permissible because it lies in the
"flood way" and City and federal regulations prohibit such expansion in a flood way. The
building was proposed to be located on Lot 68 of Stewart's Addition in Section 33, Township
1 North, Range 12 West.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter and if our application fee of $120.00 is
refundable, please mail it to the address above.
Sincerely,
_;E:

Dear Mr. Sims:
Recycled paper
As we discussed, attached are seventeen (17) copies of the site plan for the proposed
expansion of the Browning-Ferris Industries facility site located at the southern most point on
Allied Way in Little Rock, AR. We are proposing to add one additional building on the site.
The approximate dimension of the building is fourteen by sixty eet (14'x 60') having less
than_LQQquare feet. The building will be located on Lot 68 of Stewart's Addition in
Section 33, Township 1 North, Range 12 West.
As noted on the site plan, the building is proposed to be within fifty feet of the northern
boundary on the property frontage. We therefore are requesting a waiver to locate the
building as proposed.
Also enclosed is a check for one -hundred and twenty dollars to cover the application fee.
The lot is approximately ten acres in size. Please let me know if you need any additional
information and I appreciate the information and assistance you provided.
Sincerely,
Tom Boston

RE: BFI SITE PLAN REVIEW (Z -4597-A)
Dear Mr. Boston:
At last Friday's Interdepartmental Meeting, the City Engineering Division related that your
entire site is Iocated in a federally regulated flood zone, as indicated on your survey;
however, instead of being in the "I00 -year flood plain", it lies totally within the designated
"flood way". The federal regulations prohibit the City from issuing a building permit for
any construction within a flood way.
Your application for site pian review, if, indeed, the site is in the flood way, cannot lead to
an approval for the construction you wish to undertake. You may want your
surveyor/engineer to discuss the matter with the City Engineer to determine which
engineer's information is correct. If the City Engineer is correct, you might as well
withdraw your application for the time being.
Normally, this is the type of information which would be relayed at the Subdivision
Committee meeting this next Thursday. It is significant enough, though, that I wanted to
gine you all the time possible to respond to the information.
If you need further information or clarification, please call me at 371-6814
Sincerely,
Bobby E. Sims
Subdivision Administrator
