June 8, 2016 Project Description: Kitchen Addition to 301 East 7th Street. Attachment to LR HDCApplication a Certificate of Appropriateness This application is for an expansion of the existing kitchen of 301 East 7th Street. The once -detached kitchen (SE corner) was long ago "connected" to the house via a porch enclosure, had a second story added, and was further modified with room and porch additions to the east and southeast, all added at various times in the 1900's. This expansion is intended to match the adjacent construction in form and detail, including siding, trim, overhang, and low sloped roof. Features include: Cement fiber (Hardie) siding and trim to match the exposure and thickness of adjacent extant surfaces. Low slope hipped membrane roof (approx. 1/2" in 12) extending from the adjacent roof with matching fascia and overhang details. • An approximate 4'-6" extension to the existing first floor porch with 2 painted wood columns supporting the roof. The porch construction will match existing adjacent porch elements w/ brick piers, painted wood floor, columns and trim. • The addition will contain a single door from the kitchen to the porch.
