3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE SEGAL GROUP, INC., IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND
6 DOLLARS ($350,000.00), TO CONDUCT A COMPREHENSIVE CITY-
7 WIDE CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION STUDY; AND FOR
8 OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock has not conducted a Comprehensive City-Wide Classification and
11 Compensation Study since the 1990s and the current system and existing policies have not allowed the City
12 to consistently recruit and retain qualified applicants; and,
13 WHEREAS, pursuant to a Request for Qualifications No. 1248 issued for a City-Wide Classification
14 and Compensation Study, and of the three (3) bids received, The Segal Group, Inc., provided the most
15 responsive and complete response to the request for a cost of Three Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars
16 ($350,000.00).
17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an Agreement with The Segal Group,Inc.,to
20 provide Comprehensive City-Wide Classification and Compensation Study for a total amount of Three
21 Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($350,000.00).
22 Section 2. Funding for this project is available in Account No. 108279-S27C516.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are
29 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
