CODE 4 CHAPTER 30, ARTICLE 2, § 30-43 (1988), TO INCORPORATE 5 INCREASED RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY WIDTHS; AND FOR OTHER 6 PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, in 2020, the Board of Directors passed Ordinance No. 21,867 (May 19, 2020), which 9 modified the maximum width for a residential driveway to have an exemption based on distance from the 10 garage or carport to the right-of-way; and, 11 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock,Arkansas,desires through revisions of these Codes to incorporate 12 increased residential driveway widths as a percentage of lot frontage. 13 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS. 15 Section 1. That Little Rock, Arkansas Rev. Code Chapters 30 with specified Articles, Divisions, 16 Sections and subsections are amended as follows: 17 Chapter 30—Streets and Sidewalks. 18 Article 2—Construction of Curbs,Driveways,Sidewalks,Etc. 19 Sec.30-43.—Layout and design generally. 20 (a)(2)Driveways. 21 a.No driveway shall be constructed within five (5)feet of a line drawn from the point of 22 intersection of a property line with the right-of-way line of a street and perpendicular to 23 the centerline of the street, except where property abuts an alley the minimum distance 24 shall be ten (10) feet. The width of a residential driveway is to be 40% of the lots street 25 frontage but shall not exceed thirty-two (32) feet in width. The maximum opening of a 26 commercial driveway shall not exceed forty(40)feet. 27 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 31 ordinance. 32 Section 3. Repealer.
