HomeMy WebLinkAbout15934 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,934 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH UTILITY ASSOCIATES, INC., IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED TWENTY THOUSAND, 6 ONE HUNDRED EIGHT DOLLARS ($220,108.00), PLUS APPLICABLE 7 TAXES AND FEES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF 107 ROCKET MODEMS 8 AND ACCESSORIES FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT; 9 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Police Department(LRPD)has purchased 107 new Police vehicles,which 12 will need to have modems installed,which will allow for Internet connectivity inside vehicles,move video 13 from vehicles to the servers and provide GPS monitoring for Computer-Aided Dispatch; and, 14 WHEREAS, it is critical that LRPD be equipped with reliable forms of response intervention 15 equipment to preserve public safety; and, 16 WHEREAS, vendor selection with Utility Associates, Inc., was made through the utilization of the 17 Sourcewell Contract No. 051321-UTI, for the purchase of 107 Rocket and Riot Modems for newly- 18 purchased Little Rock Police Department vehicles; and, 19 WHEREAS, the total cost of the purchase is Two Hundred Twenty Thousand, One Hundred Eight 20 Dollars ($220,108.00), plus applicable taxes and fees, with funding provided from the Little Rock Police 21 Department Short-Term Financing Account No. 325529-72300-F452001. 22 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 23 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract renewal with Utility Associates, 25 Inc., for the purchase 107 Rocket and Riot Modems for newly-purchased Little Rock Police Department 26 vehicles; in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Twenty Thousand, One Hundred Eight Dollars 27 ($220,108.00), plus applicable taxes and fees. 28 Section 2. Funding for this expenditure will be provided from the Little Rock Police Department 29 Short-Term Financing Account No. 325529-72300-F452001. 30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 33 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 34 resolution.
