3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SHI, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
5 EXCEED EIGHTY-EIGHT THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHT AND
6 34/100 DOLLARS ($88,708.34), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES,
7 BASED UPON THE CURRENT NUMBER OF DEPARTMENTAL
8 LICENSES FOR VMWARE VSPHERE LICENSES AND THREE (3)
9 YEARS OF SUPPORT FOR THE CITY'S NEW DATA CENTER
10 SERVERS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS,the Information Technology Department has purchased five (5) new servers to upgrade
13 the City's Data Centers; and, VMWare VSphere Licenses and Support is needed to create and provide
14 virtualization of machines for reliable and efficient storage of data; and,
15 WHEREAS, VMWare VSphere Licenses and Support is needed to create and provide virtualization
16 of machines for reliable and efficient storage of data; and,
17 WHEREAS, the Department requests a contact with SHI, Inc., to purchase VMWare Licenses and
18 three(3)years support for the City's new Data Center Servers; and,
19 WHEREAS,the purchase will be made under Sourcewell-Technology Catalog Solutions Contract No.
20 081419-SHI; and,
21 WHEREAS,the total cost for this contract is Eighty-Eight Thousand,Seven Hundred Eight and 34/100
22 Dollars($88,708.34), plus applicable taxes and fees; and,
23 WHEREAS,the cost for the VMWare Licenses is Fifty-Two Thousand,Two Hundred Six and 70/100
24 Dollars ($52,206.70), with funding available in the 3/8-Cent Capital Expenditure, Account No. 326309-
25 72200-TS30A04,and the maintenance cost of Thirty-Six Thousand,Five Hundred One and 64/100 Dollars
26 ($36,501.64), plus applicable taxes and fees, for three (3) years will be taken from the Information
27 Technology Special Projects Account No. S30A993-063211.
28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
29 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
30 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with SHI, Inc., for the purchase of
31 VMWare Licenses and three (3) years support for the City's new Data Center Servers for a total cost of
32 Eighty-Eight Thousand, Seven Hundred Eight and 34/100 Dollars($88,708.34), plus applicable taxes and
33 fees.

1 Section 2. The cost of the VMWare licenses is Fifty-Two Thousand, Two Hundred Six and 70/100
2 Dollars ($52,206.70), with funding available in the 3/8-Cent Capital Expenditure, Account No. 326309-
3 72200-TS30A04,and the maintenance cost of Thirty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred One and 64/100 Dollars
4 ($36,501.64), plus applicable taxes and fees, for three (3) years will be taken from the Information
5 Technology Special Projects Account No. S30A993-063211.
6 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
7 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
8 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
9 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
10 resolution.
11 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
12 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
