HomeMy WebLinkAbout15921 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,921 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO 4 EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO PURCHASE THE 5 FORMER SHEPARD'S BUILDING, LOCATED AT 603 WEST 6 MARKHAM STREET, FOR THE AMOUNT OF NINE HUNDRED FIFTY 7 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($950,000.00); AND, FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City has the opportunity to purchase the former Shepard's Building, located at 603 10 West Markham Street,to use as a future City facility;and, 11 WHEREAS, pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. § 14-54-302 (c) (West Supp. 2016) this action is to be 12 performed by the Mayor and the City Clerk when authorized by resolution of the Board of Directors; 13 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 15 Section 1. The Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute all documents necessary for the 16 City to purchase the former Shepard's Building, located at 603 West Markham Street, in Little Rock, 17 Pulaski County,Arkansas,for the amount of Nine Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($950,000.00). 18 Section 2. The formal legal description for this property shown in Exhibit A to this resolution is as 19 follows: 20 Lot 9 and the W93.33' of Lots 10 thru 12, Block 123 3 in 12W, Original City of Little 21 Rock, Pulaski County,with an address of 603 West Markham Street. 22 Section 3. Funds for this purchase are available from the 2022 Budget Amendment. 23 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 27 resolution. 28 Section 5. Repealer.
