Kent Taylor explained that he discussed the landscaping situation for the ACH generator addition with you.
Items discussed:
1. The placement of the new building is in the same location as the existing parking lot located on the east
side of the existing building.
Due to the loss of this parking lot, the buffer ordinance does not apply to this project.
2. Street trees were not required for this project, due to the buffer ordinance not applying to this project and
the fact that there are overhead power lines and multiple buried utilities in the area in question.
3. There is currently landscaping in the area in question, planting beds, small shrubs and crape myrtles. This
landscaping will be replaced.

Enclosed is the proposed layout for the site listed below at Arkansas Children's
Hospital, a recent surrey, and the $230.00 fee check. Please forward these to the
Department of Planning and Development for their review and approval.
Scope of Work:
Addition to the Energy Building.
■ Located at the northeast corner of the existing Energy Building on Marshall
Street on the Arkansas Children's Hospital campus, the Addition will include new
emergency backup generators.
• We desire to build an addition onto the existing Main Energy Building in order to
provide much needed generators to provide emergency backup electrical
service for critical services on the campus.
■ This project will include new landscaping, and all existing landscaping will be
maintained or replaced as needed.
• This project also includes a new curb cut and service drive with concrete apron
off of Marshall Street to provide a service drive for the new addition.
• This project also includes an above ground fuel storage tank to supply fuel to the
new generators.

Dear Sir or Madam,
We hereby request a site plan review for the proposed Addition to the Energy Building located on
Marshall Street on the campus of Arkansas Children's Hospital, 800 Marshall Street, Little Rock,
Arkansas. Transmitted with the letter for review are 18 copies of the site plan, 3 copies of the legal
survey, and related documents.
The proposed development consists of the following components:
1. A single story addition to the Main Energy Building. The proposed addition will be approximately
6,200 square feet and approximately 40 feet tall. This addition is planned to incorporate new
generators to provide emergency backup power for critical services on the campus.
2. A new service strive. The new service drive is proposed to come of Marshall Street and go west for
approximately 30 feet to the new addition to provide access to the new generators and equipment.
3. A new above ground fuel storage tank. A new above ground fuel storage tank is proposed to
provide a substantial fuel source for the new generators so they can provide prolonged emergency
backup power. The new tank will be located directly adjacent to the other three existing tanks.
We would also request a possible variance for the building setback per City of Little Rock requirements.
We anticipate the need to reduce the setback along Marshall Street directly in front of the new building.
The proposed building would be approximately 17 feet from the existing property line on Marshall Street.
All property is owned by Arkansas Children's Hospital or its subsidiaries.
There will be no parking requirements for this proposed project.
