Home My WebLink About15879 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,879 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A SUBAWARD WITH THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF 5 CENTRAL ARKANSAS, IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($200,000.00), TO PROVIDE FACILITY 7 IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE THRASHER BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB; 8 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,518 (August 3, 2021), the Board of Directors 11 stated the intended uses of a portion of the first tranche of allotment of Local Fiscal Recovery Funds 12 through the American Rescue Plan Act(ARPA)to the City of Little Rock,Arkansas("the City"); and, 13 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 15,676 (May 3, 2022), the City of Little Rock 14 Board of Directors appropriated Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) to address public health 15 measures and the negative economic impact of COVID-19 by investing in recreational facilities 16 disproportionately impacted communities;and, 17 WHEREAS, the Recreation Facilities Improvement Program opportunity was published on the 18 City's website in December 2022 and accepted applications from December 9, 2022, through January 13, 19 2023;and 20 WHEREAS, the subaward appropriated Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00)to the Boys 21 and Girls Club of Central Arkansas to provide recreational facility improvements to Thrasher Boys and 22 Girls Club, located at 3301 South State Street,Little Rock,Arkansas, 72206; and, 23 WHEREAS, the grant award allows that the City to issue a Subaward to an entity which will 24 administer and monitor the Program. 25 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 26 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 27 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a subaward agreement with the Boys and 28 Girls Club of Central Arkansas in the amount of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) to 29 provide recreational facility improvements to Thrasher Boys and Girls Club, located at 3301 South State 30 Street,Little Rock,Arkansas, 72206. 31 Section 2. Funds for the payment of this subaward are available in Account No. AU 271129- 32 G0234AR12B-63391. 33 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 34 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or [Page 1 of 21 1 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 2 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 3 resolution. 4 Section 4.Repealer.
