3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE I, § 8-2(4) AND
4 ARTICLE VI, DIVISION I, § 8-474(a)(1) OF THE LITTLE ROCK
5 REVISED CODE OF ORDINANCES (1988); TO PROVIDE FOR THE
6 ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE 2018 ARKANSAS PLUMBING
7 CODE AND 2018 REVISIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,Little Rock, Arkansas Rev. Code §8-2(4)and §8-474(a)(1)adopts by reference the 2018
10 Edition of the Arkansas Plumbing Code with 2018 Revisions Appendixes B,C,D,E and F; and,
11 WHEREAS, the City has complied with Arkansas Code Ann. §§14-55-207 (1987) by publishing a
12 notice of intent to adopt these technical codes by reference in a paper of general circulation within the
13 municipality and three(3)copies of Codes have been available for inspection in the City Clerk's Office for
14 the public prior to their adoption; and,
15 WHEREAS,this ordinance amendment is necessary to update the City Code and authorize the use of
16 2018 Edition within the City.
17 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1.This section of Little Rock,Arkansas Rev. Code §8-2(4) and §8-474(a)(1) (1988) is hereby
20 amended to read as follows:
21 (a) The following publications are adopted by reference:
22 (1) The"2018 Arkansas Plumbing Code"with 2018 Revisions and Appendixes B,C,D,
23 E and F.
24 (2) No withstanding the provisions of(1)above,the City,consistent with other provisions
25 of Arkansas State Law, shall set the job qualifications for its employees. No job
26 qualifications contained in the 2018 Arkansas Plumbing Code are adopted in any
27 form whatsoever.
28 Section 2. Code Application. Permits obtained prior to the effective date of this ordinance will be
29 enforced under the previous adopted Code till final disposition of the permit.
30 Section 3. A copy of the 2018 Arkansas Plumbing Code,as adopted,will be maintained in the Office
31 of the City Clerk.
32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same that are inconsistent with
33 the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

1 Section 5. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
2 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudge to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and
4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of this
5 ordinance.
