Church Church (new construction) Staff Recommendation: The proposal is to construct a new church on this property as 'shown on the sketch leaving in place the existing church sanctuary until completion of the new facility. Upon completion of the new church, the old structure is scheduled for razing to provide space for off-street parking. The church is a neighborhood facility and staff has in the file a petition signed by all neighboring property owners stating their support of the variance requested and citing the desire to retain the present place of worship throughout the construction period. Staff finds no public interest in forcing a literal application of the ordinance on this project and recommends approval of the variance. Board Action: The applicant was present and there were no objectors. After a brief discussion, the Board moved to approve the application as filed. The motion was passed: 6 ayes, fo 0 noes, 1 absent. r r ,
