The purpose and intent of this project Is to build a 2-car garage, approx. 820 square feet, which contains a storage room, workshop area, laundry room, and bathroom. The attic of the garage will be floored to use for storage. Originally, the house had no driveway in the front yard, and it had an iron fence surrounding the yard. When we purchased the house in 1008, there was a driveway in the front and the fence was gone. We would like to restore the front property to its original style by removing the driveway and replacing the fence (to be done at a later time). We have one picture from the 1970's that shows a garage structure in the back of the property. However, when we purchased the home, it was no longer there. To compliment the style of the garage, we would like to remove the outside wall covering of the enclosed 2-story sun porch, which Is at the back of the house and faces the garage. The structure will be approximately 10X10. The siding that we will use on the garage will be place on the sun porch as wall, so they will match. The upstairs room of the sun porch has a door that leads outside. However, there is nothing to step out onto. It is a door that leads no where. We believe that there were stairs there at some point for an additional entrance into the house, When we purchased the house there was nothing there. We would like to build a 2-story roofed balcony/ patio here. When you open the door from the second story, you will step out onto a roofed balcony. When you step out of the house from the first floor, you will step out onto a roofed patio. There will be a spiral staircase on the outside of this structure, which will be added protection in case of a fire. There will be a second story escape in case of an emergency. B. The builder, Hunter McMillen, will be ready to begin around April 1, 2003 (as soon as this project can be approved). The construction should last approximately 2 months. C. See survey D. The anticipated impact on the neighborhood is that of restoring at least the front of the property to its original appearance, which has immeasurable impact and significance. Aesthetically, there would not be cars parked in the front yard. The home would have a more residential feel with the addition of the garage and be proof that you can have security and permanence downtown. The improvements and additions overall show that families are here to stay, and we can make our homes comfortable and secure, FROM :CIRCUIT_JUUENILE_PROBATION FAX NO. :3406939 Mar. 20 2003 11:10AM P3 MATERIALS DESCRIPTION The trim for the garage will be cedar wood.
