Subject:RE: Proposed Ordinance for Local Historic District
Good morning Ms. Miles,
Walter mentioned from his meeting with WANA that there was a comment/request to consider more specific
requirements of the two additional positions on the HDC that could result from the passing of the local ordinance
district. The increase in the HDC membership will be discussed and voted on at the October 6 th HDC public hearing (to
then go on to the Board of Directors at a later date). I haven’t received anything from WANA in writing to present to the
HDC for this request, so I want to make sure that you, and other representatives of your organization, are aware of the
opportunity to present this request at the meeting. If asked, Walter will likely speak to it if no one from WANA is
present, but it is always more helpful for a representative to be there in case of questions and to advocate for their
request.
Thanks,

Good afternoon Ms. Miles,
To add, we have received several return-to-sender envelopes. I’ve checked each of their addresses and they are all
correct according to the Pulaski County Assessor. Sometimes residents forget to keep their mailing address up to date
with the assessor and this is what causes a delayed or undeliverable notice. If a neighbor did not receive a letter, they

might need to check their address with the assessor so they don’t miss future public notices. I’ve attached a digital version
of the letter here in case it is helpful.

Ms. Miles,
Letters were mailed to property owners either September 1 or 2 using the Pulaski County Assessors mailing
addresses. The notices were for a meeting before the Historic District Commission on Thursday October 6 at 4 PM (Willie
Hinton Resource Center on 12th Street). If the Historic district recommends approval, then it will be placed on a Board of
Directors agenda (possibly in November).

Hello Mr. Malone,
Has the public notice been distributed to the Wright Avenue residents concerning your proposed
ordinance for a local historic district? I haven't received notice. It seems that some residents have
received notice and some have not.
When is this proposal being presented to the City Board of Directors?
