Good morning, Bruce Several weeks ago, your staff and I met with Amazon to try and find ways to further reduce traffic through College Station. It seems that many of the contract truck drivers are using GPS mapping systems to guide them to Amazon and these systems are directing them thru the neighborhood. One suggestion was to temporarily downgrade the street status of Frazier Pike (until it is eventually fully developed); by doing this, it is believed that the mapping systems will remove that route from their GPS systems because it would no longer be an arterial or collector street. Jamie and/or Jon can give you more details. Is this something you would be supportive of? Many thanks! I wanted to follow-up on our meeting to see if there’s been any discussion towards updating the City’s Master Street Plan, or other efforts, to restrict truck access on Frazier Pike and update any third party mapping systems. Our local transportation contact and Jon’s team are meeting on Thursday to discuss the placement of additional signage on Bankhead Dr and Frazier Pike. Please let me know if a follow-up discussion would be helpful. Thank you!
