Be thinking of potential candidates; perhaps someone from a minority group. Chairman Heiple ask Stacy Hurst what her thoughts were on primary goals for the CBC for the 2005 year. Stacy stated that litter by far was the number one issue needing addressed currently. Staff hours are tremendous for litter pick up and it is a visual eye sore for the city. CBC working with the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission is very promising. It was mentioned that Janet Huckaby would be a good candidate for the Polish the Rock award due to her statewide tickets to litter program. .lack Singleton with Keep Arkansas Beautiful announced an awards program with a $500.00 award. NEW BUSINESS: Lynn Warren spoke with Janet Carson regarding the possibility of manning a booth and garden space at this years annual garden show in February. If the commission decides to be involved it would include a booth that is 10 feet by 10 feet and a garden space of 20 feet by 35 feet. Discussion included the following: + amount of work involved • lack of time to prepare • no design for the garden or the booth area • area is to be manned at all times • a four hundred dollar initial investment(to be reimbursed) • lack of materials/labor Lynn is gong to check on the likelihood of the public works department having a booth that the CBC can collaborate on and help man.
