3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
4 A CONTRACT WITH GULF STATE DISTRIBUTORS, IN THE TOTAL
5 AMOUNT OF SIXTY-NINE THOUSAND, TWENTY AND 92/100
6 DOLLARS ($69,020.92), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR
7 THE PURCHASE OF SMITH & WESSON M&P RIFLES FOR THE
8 LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Police Department(LRPD) is responsible for ensuring the public safety
11 within the City Limits of Little Rock; and,
12 WHEREAS, Patrol Rifles are the preferred weapon to employ during active aggressor incidents and
13 those incidents where suspects are equipped with high-power, long-range weapons; and,
14 WHEREAS, LRPD has a need to purchase fifty (50) Smith & Wesson M&P Rifles for the Patrol
15 Officers; and,
16 WHEREAS,after a competitive bid process pursuant to Bid No. 1708,which generated three(3)bids,
17 Purchasing Staff reviewed the bid pricing and determined that Gulf State Distributors was an acceptable
18 successful bidder for Sixty-Nine Thousand,Twenty and 92/100 Dollars($69,020.92),plus applicable taxes
19 and fees.
20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Gulf State Distributors for the
23 purchase of purchase fifty (50) Smith & Wesson M&P Rifles for an amount not to exceed Sixty-Nine
24 Thousand,Twenty and 92/100 Dollars($69,020.92), plus applicable taxes and fees.
25 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in the Seized Funds Account No. 270529-G35148.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
