Regarding: Attendance/Planning session
I am very disappointed in the attendance and promptness
of meetings and in the lack of attendance of our planning
session a couple of months ago. Being a part of the
commission requires a significant commitment of time and
effort. It was quite embarrassing to have two groups
waiting to present information the commission last meeting
while only two members were on time and a quorum was barely
reached by 45 minutes after the meeting should have started.
I realize we are all busy people, and it is for that reason
specifically that we must arrive in a timely manner.I do not
have the time to wait 45 minutes to be able to start a
meeting and neither did the other commissioners that were on
time.
It appears to me that there is a general lack of
interest and enthusiasm on the part of many commissioners.
Perhaps this is a result of my not providing proper
leadership, or*perhaps it is a result of our not having
updated our projects to keep up with the desires and
interests of the commissioners.
I believe that we need to reprioritize and brainstorm
ideas in an attempt to generate more interest in our
projects, by the commission. Rather than trying to set up a
special meeting for this, we will try to do this at our next
regular meeting on Oct. 12 at 10:00 am. Please mark this on
your calendar and plan to stay until around 2:00 PM if
necessary. This meeting will be at the senior Center and
lunch will be served.
Please let Becky know any subject areas which you would
like to discuss by the 5th, and whether you will be able to
attend. This is.a very important meeting that will set the
tone for the future of the commission so please try to
attend and be on time.
