The Little Rock City Beautiful Commission held its regular
meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 1992 at City Hall in the 2nd
Floor Conference Room. The meeting was called to order at
10:00 A.M., by chairman, Merle Seamon.

1. Roll Call. Six of nine members present at the time of
roll call. Jo Rancifer joined the meeting after roll call.

2. Capitol Ave. Project. Enclosed is the copy of the agenda
of the public meeting that was held at the City Beautiful
meeting. The team from McClelland Consulting Engineers
presented the information on the Capitol Avenue Steetscape
Master Plan Study.
3. Reports of Committees.
Because of the length of time of the Capitol Ave.
presentation, Ross moved that the commission disperse with
the committee reports and move on to other matters that the
commission needed to discussion and vote on.
Merle informed the commission that the date for Winterfest
will be on November 28th, there will probably be a need
for volunteers to help with the festival.
The City Beautiful Awards need to be voted on, using the
list that Becky Switzer mailed to all commissioners. This
can be done by rating them from one to five, five being the
highest. This needs to be done in the next couple of weeks
and returned to Becky. She will forward them to Shalah
Brummett to calculate before the next meeting.
4. Approval of Minutes.
Steve Cato moved that we accept the minutes from the last
meeting. Jo Rancifer seconded. Approved with all ayes.
5. City Beautiful Commission Convention
Enclosed is a copy of the minutes from the meeting held
on September 4, 1992, to discuss what is needed to be done
for the City Beautiful Commission Convention.
6. Parks and Recreation.
Truman Tolefree stated that the date of October 8th, 1992,
has been tenatively set for the grand opening of the
University Park Adult Center.

7. Miscellaneous.
Mrs. Graham wanted to let the commission know that there
would be a public hearing, September 17, 7:00 p.m., at St.
Vincent, from the Environmental Task Force of the Future
Little Rock. Peggy Harris, will be presenting information
on the'Keep America Beautiful Program.
8. Adjournment.
Ross McCain made the motion to adjourn the meeting, Jo
Rancifer seconded. All ayes. Meeting adjourned 12:05.
