City Managers Office
Dear Mayor Priest and City Directors,
The City Beautiful Commission wishes to commend the Board and
the City Attorneys Office for the position that they have
taken related to billboards. The Commission is aware of the
recent revisions made by the Board to clarify the intent of
Little Rock's Billboard Ordinance and we wish to go on record
in support of these revisions. We have always felt that your
original action regarding billboards was appropriate and
certainly a step in the right direction toward effectively
controlling these gaudy signs.
As you know, the Commission is charged by the Board of
Directors with the responsibility of improving the visual
character of Little Rock. No project currently conceived by
the Commission could have a greater impact than the Billboard
Ordinance, and we salute your effort.
We thank the Board for its strong commitment to improving the
aesthetic quality of Little Rock and we offer our full fledge
suppoort and assistance in working toward that end.
Sincerely,
