3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH AFLAC FOR VOLUNTARY GROUP
5 ACCIDENT INSURANCE FOR A TWELVE (12)-MONTH PERIOD
6 EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1,2023; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS,the City provides certain insurance options for its employees and their dependents, and
9 after a competitive selection process it was determined that the most qualified applicant with the best overall
10 rate to provide Accident Insurance options for the current City employees is Aflac;and,
11 WHEREAS, the voluntary benefits are optional for City employees and solely at the expense of the
12 employee.
13 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to approve an extension of the contract with Aflac for the
16 period of January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, for Voluntary Group Accident Insurance for City
17 employees and their dependents.
18 Section 2. Funding for the voluntary benefits for City of Little Rock employees is solely at the expense
19 of the employee.
20 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
21 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
22 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
23 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
24 resolution.
25 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
26 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
