3 A RESOLUTION TO SET SEPTEMBER 6, 2022, AS THE DATE FOR A
4 PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED EXPENDITURES FROM
5 THE EDWARD BYRNE JUSTICE ASSISTANCE (JAG) GRANT; AND
6 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the City Clerk has been provided notification that the Little Rock Police Department
9 (LRPD) is eligible to apply for the funds from the Fiscal Year 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
10 Assistance Grant Program; and,
11 WHEREAS, as the fiscal agency for this grant, LRPD has notified its Governing Body of this
12 eligibility;and,
13 WHEREAS,prior to the approval and execution of the JAG 22 Grant Application and Memorandum
14 of Understanding with Pulaski County by the City of Little Rock a public hearing is required so that LRPD
15 may advise the public regarding proposed Grant expenditures:
16 Advanced/Executive Training: $ 15,000.00
17 M-VAC (DNA Collection) 45,409.00
18 Hand-Held Radar Devices 14,685.00
19 Ballistic Vests 36.000.00
20 FARRO Machine(Evidence Collection) 82,000.00
21 Computer/Laptop equipment 3,178.00
22 Firearms Training Range 30,000.00
23 Municipal Allocation(Total) $261,212.00
24 County Allocation(Total) 38,905.00
25 Joint Allocation $300,117.00
26 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
27 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
28 Section 1. The hearing on the approval and execution of the JAG 22 Grant Application and
29 Memorandum of Understanding with Pulaski County shall be held at a meeting of the Board of Directors
30 that will start at 6:00 PM on the 6th day of September 2022, at The Centre at University Park, 6401 West
31 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas.
32 Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed
33 by law by publication once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in Pulaski
34 County,Arkansas,and having a general circulation in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.

1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
2 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
5 resolution.
6 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
7 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
