3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH R.VALADEZ CONSTRUCTION,INC.,IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-SIX THOUSAND,
6 SIXTY-SEVEN AND 78/100 DOLLARS ($166,067.78), FOR THE 13TH
7 STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS,bids were solicited for the 13th Street Drainage Improvement Project,Bid No. 1753;and,
11 WHEREAS, R. Valadez Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
12 specifications.
13 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
14 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with R. Valadez
16 Construction, Inc., for the 13t Street Drainage Improvement Project in an amount not to exceed One
17 Hundred Sixty-Six Thousand, Sixty-Seven and 78/100 Dollars($166,067.78),which is the base bid amount
18 of One Hundred Thirty-Eight Thousand, Three Hundred Eighty-Nine and 81/100 Dollars ($138,389.81),
19 plus 20%contingencies.
20 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the%-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
21 Use Tax Funds and the General Obligation Limited Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized by
22 Resolution No. 14,803.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer.All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
29 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
