OUR STORY
Gateway Pet Memorial was founded by Scott Hunter in 1996. After facing the loss of a family pet, Scott was surprised at the lack of regulations, licensing and standards in the Pet Aftercare
industry.
Now, over 25 years later with over 100 locations across Canada and the United States, the Gateway family has been established as the North American leader in the pet aftercare industry.
As pioneers of clay paws, witness cremation and standard urns, being a part of the Gateway family means being dedicated to setting the standard for dignified and
respectful pet aftercare services.

Losing a pet is one of the most difficult things a person can experience. Whether the loss of a pet is sudden, or something you’ve anticipated for weeks or months, it is a highly emotional
time. Each person experiences grief differently – understanding what to expect during this time may be helpful for you.
We’ve talked to pet parents about their experience with pet aftercare and the loss of a pet and have developed the following guides to address some common questions and feelings.

We are very excited to announce a new partnership with Not One More Vet (NOMV). NOMV is an online support community of over 26,000 veterinary professionals. They come together to share
stories, to cry, to celebrate, to mourn. It’s a place that you see you are never alone and that others understand what you are going through.
We are very proud of this new partnership and are honored to be supporting such a valuable, much needed organization. We are not only committed to supporting your pet families, but we
are also committed to supporting your team members.
Many veterinary professionals are in crisis. Founded in 2014, Not One More Vet provides the necessary support to veterinary staff who are struggling or considering suicide. NOMV will
