PROPOSAL FOR SERVICES
Re: Rebuild of chimney on NW corner of Terry House
411 E. 5`' Street
Little Rock, Arkansas 72202
To: Matt Gardner
Scope of project: Erect scaffolding on Northwest corner of residence to a work height to permit the
mason to remove and replace the bricks in an orderly, professional and safe fashion. Bricks will be
cleaned and stored to restrict moisture absorption until needed to reconstruct the chimney. There exists
a natural change of chimney size and that will serve as a point to examine the condition of the structure
for determination if removal down to the existing roof line would be prudent. The original bricks will
be used to rebuild the chimney in the same configuration as the original where the brick integrity is in
tact. For bricks that are too damaged for reuse, bricks with the same shape, size and texture will be
substituted. The chimney will be painted to match the other existing chimneys. Steps to protect the roof
and the side structure will taken. Upon completion and acceptance of the rebuilt chimney, the
scaffolding will be taken down and all residue of the project will be removed from the work site.
Cost of services: The project will be done on a time and materials basis with materials being charged to
an issued purchase order. Time will be as required.
Our estimates for the project are for three masons and helpers working a total of ten days. We estimate
the time to transport, erect and dis-assemble the scaffoldling to be three workers for four days.
Recap on time projections:
Three workers for four days at 8 hours per equals 3 times 8 times four is 96 hours
Two helpers for ten days at 8 hours per equals 2 times 8 tunes ten is 160 hours
One mason for ten days at 8 hours per equals 1 times 8 times ten is 80 hours
Supervision for project at 3 hours per equals 1 times 3 times fourteen is 42 hours
256 hours at $55 per equals $14,080.00
122 hours a $65 7,930,00
Total labor estimate $22,010.00
This estimate reflects our best judgement at this time with the present access and availability of labor
skilled workers.
