3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDS
4 FROM THE ARKANSAS HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAM, IN
5 THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY-SIX THOUSAND,FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY-
6 FIVE DOLLARS ($56,425.00), TO CONDUCT PHASE II OF THE
7 HILLCREST NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES DISTRICT
8 RESURVEY AND FOR TRAINING FOR HISTORIC DISTRICT
9 COMMISSIONERS AND STAFF; TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND
10 CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY
11 APPLICATIONS, AGREEMENTS AND CONTRACTS FOR ITS
12 ADMINISTRATION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

14 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, ("City") acknowledges that 2022 Grant Funds are
15 available from the Arkansas Heritage Preservation Program("AHPP"); and,
16 WHEREAS, the City has successfully applied for grant funds from AHPP and they are desirous of
17 awarding Fifty-Six Thousand, Four Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars($56,425.00)to the City; and,
18 WHEREAS,the grant funds will be used as follows: 1)Fifty—Five Thousand,Eight Hundred Twenty-
19 Five Dollars ($55,825.00) for Consultants' Services for Phase II of the Hillcrest National Register of
20 Historic Places District Resurvey; and 2) Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) for travel expenses to AHPP
21 sponsored or approved trainings for Historic District Commissioners and Staff; and,
22 WHEREAS, Phase I of the Hillcrest National Register of Historic Places District Resurvey was
23 completed in the Fall of 2021 and 322 properties will be resurveyed in this phase of the project; and,
24 WHEREAS, members of the City's Historic District Commission and Staff have need of periodic
25 training in order to properly fulfill their duties to the City.
26 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
27 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
28 Section 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock authorizes the Mayor to accept funds from
29 the Arkansas Heritage Preservation Program ("AHPP") in the amount of Fifty—Five Thousand, Eight
30 Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars($55,825.00)for Consultants' Services for Phase II of the Hillcrest National
31 Register of Historic Places District Resurvey.
32 Section 2. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock authorizes the Mayor to accept funds from
33 AHPP in the amount of Six Hundred Dollars($600.00)for travel expenses to AHPP sponsored or approved

1 trainings for Historic District Commissioners and Staff.
2 Section 3. The Mayor and City Manager and any other necessary City employees are hereby authorized
3 and directed to execute any and all appropriate applications,agreements,and contracts necessary to expedite
4 the construction and renovation of the above stated projects.
5 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, subtitle, section, subsection, subdivision, paragraph,
6 subparagraph, item,sentence,clause,phrase,or work of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid
7 or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution
8 which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
9 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution.
10 Section 5. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same that are inconsistent with the
11 provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
