Walter,
We don't have much to add on this proposal except to say it is not located within the flood hazard. We don't
have much history to report, either. As we understand it, this proposal will require posting and notice to
adjacent property owners which we think is the most important factor.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Best,
Van

Subject: Land Use Plan amendment
Van,
There as been a land use plan amendment and reclassification filed for approximately 12-acres north of Lawson Road
near Crystal valley Road (see attached map). This would be an expansion of the existing open pit mine in the ridges
between Lawson and Colonel Glenn Roads.
Is there any history about the mining operation and/or nearby single-family that we should be aware of? The land
immediately to the east of the application appears to be vacant and wooded. There is a road/path from Colonel Glenn
Road into this land. The neighboring land has been divided into three tracts. Any background or insights would be
appreciated.
Thanks-
Walter Malone, AICP
