HomeMy WebLinkAboutHDC2000-017 FINAL ACTIONIRL TO: FROM DATE: City of Little Rock HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION MEMORANDUM Charles Toland, Permits Administrator V. Anne Guthrie, Historic Preservation Administrator 4 October 2000 SUBJECT: Permit for 524 East 6th Street This memo serves as administrative approval from the Little Rock Historic District Commission (LRHDC) allowing contractor Steve Harder of Schulte Construction Company permission to obtain a roofing permit for 524 E. 6th Street. I understand that the permit is to install a new roof. Since the structure is located within the MacArthur Park Historic District, exterior work comes under the LRHDC's jurisdiction. Routine maintenance is allowed within the local ordinance historic district with administrative approval. The repairs should be performed in conformance to the district's design guidelines and appropriate to the structure: the proposed work will not alter the existing footprint, outline, profile, composition or change the configuration; there will be no change to the roof slope and no introduction of new architectural detailing or materials; it is replacing asphalt shingles with asphalt shingles. As such, and meeting all city, building and health regulations, the application for a roofing permit should be approved. If exterior improvements are made that require a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA), staff will be notified and appropriate actions taken for a public hearing. Refer to the application instructions or the Design Review Guidelines: MacArthur Park Historic District for necessity of obtaining a COA.
