I would suggest you talk to Tommy Jameson or Charles Witsell as they
regularly deal with historic renovation work and qualified
contractors. I do not have enough experience with that type of work
and consequently the construction of such.to suggest qualified
contractors.

Brian,
In my experience, Charles Marratt (C/M Restoration & Remodeling) is probably
one of the best general local contractors. He has worked on my house and
most of the other historic homes in the Quapaw Quarter, and he really knows
historic details and materials, especially replicating woodwork and trim.
He did Richard Butler's restoration of First Hotze House (1620 S. Main), and
many other high quality restorations. You didn't mention whether this was a
residential or commercial structure. I think he does primarily residential,
but he probably has experience with commercial as well. His phone number is
372-1173.

I am working with a "very" historic property that is in need of a qualified
contractor to do exterior work on the structure. It is a lot of
maintenance, but will need some replacement of historic column bases, along
with some railing repair, and other replacement of bits of trim here and
there.
She has asked me if I can recommend a good contractor that has prior
experience in this type of work. Can you suggest anyone? I will need to
give her at least three companies to from which to choose.
