Home My WebLink About15668 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,668 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH BMD BUILDERS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO 5 EXCEED ONE MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY-NINE THOUSAND, 6 FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE DOLLARS ($1,459,439.00), FOR THE 7 CONSTRUCTION OF BASKETBALL COURTS AND IMPROVEMENTS 8 AT KANIS PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS,citizens have requested the return of the Kanis Park Basketball Courts since the complex 11 was removed with expansion of Interstate 630 Interstate Project; and, 12 WHEREAS,the Parks&Recreation Departments requests approval for the construction of Basketball 13 Courts to include a Low-Water Entrance Bridge, ADA trail improvements to provide trail connection to 14 existing trails and future Tri-Creek Greenway Trails;and, 15 WHEREAS, of the three (3) bids received, it was determined that BMD Builders was the lowest, 16 responsible and responsive bidder pursuant to Bid Event No. 1507 to provide labor and materials for the 17 Kanis Park improvements;and, 18 WHEREAS, the project cost is One Million, Four Hundred Fifty-Nine Thousand, Four Hundred 19 Thirty-Nine Dollars($1,459,439.00),with funds for the project available from the following accounts: Six 20 Hundred Fifty-Nine Thousand, Four Hundred Thirty-Nine Dollars ($659,439.00) from Short-Term 21 Financing,Account No.325459-F451006;Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($550,000.00)from Kanis 22 Park Special Project,Account No. 108459-S45C419;One Hundred Eighty-Seven Thousand,Five Hundred 23 Dollars ($187,500.00) from Kanis Bridge ADEM Grant Funds, Account No. 270459-G45DS211; and 24 Sixty-Two Thousand,Five Hundred Dollars($62,500.00)from Grant Match Funds, Account No. 108129- 25 S45G056. 26 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 27 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 28 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with BMD Builders provide labor 29 and materials for the for the construction of Basketball Courts to include a Low-Water Entrance Bridge, 30 ADA trail improvements to provide trail connection to existing trails and future Tri-Creek Greenway trails. 31 Section 2. Funding for this project cost is available from the following accounts: Six Hundred Fifty- 32 Nine Thousand, Four Hundred Thirty-Nine Dollars ($659,439.00) from Short-Term Financing, Account 33 No. 325459-F451006; Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($550,000.00) from Kanis Park Special 34 Project, Account No. 108459-S45C419; One Hundred Eighty-Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars [Page 1 of 21 1 ($187,500.00) from Kanis Bridge ADEM Grant Funds, Account No. 270459-G45DS211; and Sixty-Two 2 Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars($62,500.00)from Grant Match Funds, Account No. 108129-S45G056. 3 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 4 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 5 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 6 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 7 resolution. 8 Section 4. Repealer.
