OF THE
LITTLE ROCK BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

The Little Rook Board of Adjustment met in the Council Chamber, City Hall, on
May 20, 1957 at 2:00 P. M. The following members were present:
Miss Emily Penton, Chairman
Mr. Warren Baldwin
Mr. W. H. Marak
Docket No. 5-57 - L. 0. Batson, 12X2 West 37th Street,
described as lot 4, High Point Addition to the City of
Little Rock, - Arkansas, $tined "K" Leavy Industrial
District,'requa sting a variance from the rear yard pro-
visions of Section 15 of that ordinance to permit the
extension of the present storage room to allow for
another bedroom.
Mr. Batson was present and explained his proposed plans shown on his plot plan.
03 said he merely wanted to fill in a vacant corner, coming no nearer to.the side or
tear lot line.
No objectors were present.
Mr. Marak moved this request be granted., Mr. Baldwin seconded and the motion
carried.
Docket No. 6=57 - Dr. T.,J. Raney, 924 Marshall Street,
described as lots 7 and part of -lot 6, block U. Marshall
and Wolfe Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
zoned 'IF" Commercial District, requesting a variance from
the front and side provisions of Section .13 of that ordi-
nance to permit construction of a storage shed.
Dr. Raney was present to explain his plans. He proposed to make extensive
repairs and an addition to the present structure which would require waiver of the
yard space requirements.
No objectors were present.
In the executive meeting Mr. Pearce moved the request be granted, Mr, Baldwin
4econded and -the motion carried.

Docket No. 7-57 - Esso Standard Oil Co., (by W. P. Hamilton,
Jr., atty.) 2115 West Roosevelt Road, described as lots 5,
11, and 12, block 4; McCarthy's Addition to the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, requesting a variance from the side
yard provisions of Section 13 of that ordinance to permit
construction of a storage shed:
Mr. Laurence Burrow, atty., was present to represent the Esso Oil Co. He ex-
plained the proposed plans and gave a brief history of what had been done at this
location in the past-, He said the station was badly in need of storage space and
that it would improve the looks of the property to have this new structure storage
space.
Mr. Johnson, representative of the Oil Co., was present and said the new build-
ing would be constructed of concrete blocks, painted white.
Mr. Burrow said he had (tiled a registered letter to the property owner at
2510 Schiller, but that the return receipt had not been received.
Mr. Burrow was asked how close this structure would be to the house next door?
He replied that a concrete slab would be within 101, but no structure would be that
close to the line.
No objectors were present.
In the executive meeting after a short discussion Mr. Baldwin moved that the
request be granted, Mr. Marak seconded and the motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 205 P. M.
