HomeMy WebLinkAbout15653 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,653 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE 4 A CONTRACT WITH ARKANSAS FIRST RESPONSE, IN AN AMOUNT 5 NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($63,000.00), 6 PLUS APPLICABLE FEES AND TAXES, TO PURCHASE THIRTY-SIX 7 (36)ZOLL AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS(AED)3S FOR 8 USE IN CITY-OWNED FACILITIES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need to have Automated External Defibrillators ("AEDs") 11 available onsite at City-owned facilities to ensure the safety and health of its employees and visitors; and, 12 WHEREAS,the Human Resources Department requests approval to purchase thirty-six(36)AEDs to 13 replace obsolete devices with unreliable maintenance due to scarce availability of pads and batteries 14 required to operate and the manufactures recommended replacement;and, 15 WHEREAS,vendor selection was made through the utilization of the State Contract No. SP-18-0060 16 to purchase thirty-six(36)AEDs, including pads,batteries,carrying cases and wall mounts from Arkansas 17 First Response; and, 18 WHEREAS, the total amount of the purchase shall not exceed Sixty-Three Thousand Dollars 19 ($63,000.00), plus applicable taxes and fees, with funding available from the General Fund Executive 20 Administration Account No. 101002-60200; 21 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 22 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Arkansas First Response to 24 purchase thirty-six(36)Automated External Defibrillators(AEDs),including pads,batteries,carrying cases 25 and wall mounts for a total amount not to exceed of Sixty-Three Thousand Dollars ($63,000.00), plus 26 applicable taxes and fees. 27 Section 2. The funding for the AED purchase is available in the General Fund Executive 28 Administration Account No. 101002-60200. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 resolution.
