HomeMy WebLinkAbout15651 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,651 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH NAVONA CONSTRUCTION,LLC,IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND, ONE 6 HUNDRED FORTY-NINE AND 20/100 DOLLARS ($110,149.20), TO 7 DEMOLISH THE SOUTH HALF OF THE SMALL CARNIVORES AREA 8 AT THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo seeks approval to demolish the south half of the Small Carnivores 11 Area to remove outdated exhibit space that no longer meets modern zoological design; and, 12 WHEREAS,the second half of the demolition project shall be completed before 2022 year-end; and, 13 WHEREAS,of the three(3)bids received, it was determined that Navona Construction,LLC,was the 14 lowest, responsible and responsive bidder pursuant to Bid Event No. 1457 for the demolition of the Small 15 Carnivore Area; and, 16 WHEREAS, the project cost is based upon a bid of Ninety-One Thousand, Seven Hundred Ninety- 17 One Dollars($91,791.00),plus a 20%contingency if needed,for a total amount not to exceed One Hundred 18 Ten Thousand,One Hundred Forty-Nine and 20/100 Dollars($110,149.20); and, 19 WHEREAS,the project funds are available from the Zoo Upgrades Account No. 326659-TS65A32. 20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an Agreement Navona Construction,LLC,to 23 demolish the south half of the Small Carnivores Area at the Little Rock Zoo for a total amount of Ninety- 24 One Thousand, Seven Hundred Ninety-One Dollars($91,791.00),plus a 20%contingency, if needed,for a 25 total amount not to exceed One Hundred Ten Thousand, One Hundred Forty-Nine and 20/100 Dollars 26 ($110,149.20). 27 Section 2. Funding for this project is available in the Zoo Upgrades Account No.326659-TS65A32. 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 32 resolution. 33 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are 34 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
