2:00 P.M. for the consideration of the following case.
z-2391
Applicant: Baptist Medical Center
Location: 9600 Kanis Road
Description: Long Legal
Classification: "C"-Two-family District
Variance: Requests a Variance from Section 43-12 of the
Code of Ordinances to permit erection of hospital
building to a height of 170 feet
The Staff recommended approval of this application.
Mr. Taylor said he would like to remind the applicant at this time that prior
to additional development of other buildings they would need'to file a subdi-
vision or development plan with the Planning Commission or Board of Adjustment.
Mr. Henry Spitzberg, attorney for the applicant, was present as was Mr. Noland
Blass of the architectural firm who designed the complex. Mr. Spitzberg expressed
his appreciation of the Board meeting in special session to consider this height
Variance. Because of the imminent expiration of certain contracts this technicality
had to be resolved prior to that time. The height variance Was necessary in view
of the hospital being constructed in a "C"-Two-family District which allows a
height limit of 35 feet.
