NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT a/an special use permit application
for the above described property has been fled with the Department of Planning and Development. This notice
is provided to inform owners within a 200-foot legal notification boundary of issues that may affect their
neighborhood.
A public hearing for said application will be held by the Little Rock Planning Commission at
The Centre at University Park, 6401 W. 12th Street Little Rock, Arkansas,
on: October 14 2021 at 4:00pm CST.
Interested parties may participate in the public hearing to be held at the above -mentioned place
and time, by registering in -person at the public hearing, or in one of the following ways:
• No later than 24 hours prior to the public hearing time, email written comments/written
statement to lrzoning@littlerock.gov, including associated item name(s) or file number(s.) The
comments/statements will be submitted for consideration to the Planning Commission.

Hi! My name is Sara Miller. My spouse and I bought and moved into the house at 5720 Woodlawn Drive
earlier this year. (You may or may not have seen us outside, puttering in the yard or walking our three
dogs around the block.) I'm sending the enclosed notice to all property owners within a 200-foot radius
to let you know I've submitted a Special Use Permit to the City to request opening one room of our
house to what's commonly called "short-term rentals," (such as Air BnB or VRBO). (The City currently
calls these "Bed and Breakfasts.") This request will be presented at a public hearing in October; see the
enclosed notice for details. Opening our home to short-term rentals would provide a small boost to
our household income while giving me and my family opportunities to meet and engage with
interesting people.
I understand the reluctance of some communities to welcome short-term rentals into their
neighborhoods, often due to situations stemming from absentee owners or property managers. I want
to reassure you that we will continue to be full-time residents, which will prevent many issues;
additionally, our responsible hosting practices will include the following:
• No sign or advertisement of any kind will be displayed in front of the house —it will retain its
fully -residential character.
• Visitors will not be allowed to have parties, and guest rules will include reasonable quiet hours.
■ Litter will be regularly policed. (I enjoy a neat yard.)
■ We will provide one parking space for guests, and one parking space for residents. (We're a
one -car family, so one space is all we need). There will be no parking in the front yard on
unpaved areas.
• Guest stays will be limited to no more than 14 consecutive days.
I know we're lucky to have landed in this neighborhood, and we look forward to being here for many
years. Along with that, I wish to make friends with all of our neighbors, so please, if you have questions
